There is meaning behind the Metzo logo with the watermill and the number 18. The number 18 represents the older generation’s alcohol meter (alcometra). This measured the proof of the Cretan Raki as it was coming out of the distillery.

The pure Traditional Metzoraki is the first Cretan product on which was based the company Metzo importers. Historic is also the Name of the company METZO!!! The Metzo name stems from the nickname they used to call the Galanos family in the village of Faratsi of Mylopotamos Crete.

The watermill, on company’s logo, is just a reminder to whomever is enjoying the Metzo products that they come from a place of natural beauty which exists between the waves of the Cretan sea and the coolness of the tallest mountain in Crete, PSELORITI.
